Major Generals Review – Horse Guards.

DSC06324Branch members attended the Major Generals Review at Horse Guards London on the 28th May 16. The Review is a full dress rehearsal for the Queen’s Birthday parade, commonly known as Trooping the Colour. Number 7 Company Coldstream Guards trooped the Queen’s Colour presented in 2012 . The origins of the parade can be traced back to 1760, the parade was not held between 1914-18 & 1940 -46. Her Majesty has taken the salute since 1952.




A Trumpeter From the Blues and Royals

Other Regiments on parade were the  life Guards, Blues and Royals and the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery. Music was provided by the massed bands of the Guards Division and the Mounted Band of the Household Division.
