Gravesend Sappers out in full force – Pause to Remember

Branch Standard on parade

The annual Pause to Remember service was held on the 11th November at 11AM in the Community Square Gravesend, organised by the Royal British Legion (Gravesham and Ebbsfleet Branch).  Cadets, veterans and local people attended the service officiated by the Rev. Canon Christopher Stone.  The service started at 11am with a cannon fired to mark the start of the two minute silence, fired from the top of the council building.

The Branch standard along with other ex service and cadet standards were paraded and the Salvation Army band provided the music for the service.

After the service the Worshipful the Mayor of Gravesham, Councillor Greta Goatley walked around all those on parade and those watching, thanking everyone for attending.

The Branch along with the army cadets on parade from Gads Hill and the local cadet detachment gave a good sapper presence to the parade which also included the RBL and Sea Cadets and members of the services and the public were in the crowd.
